From The Indy Food Co-op

11 May

AFH Indy’s collaboration with the Indy Food Co-op to develop Pogue’s Run Grocer is a perfect example of helping local communities renew and revitalize, this time in a historical Near Eastside neighborhood through the power of food and good design.

Working with a multi-faceted team of volunteers AFH Indy has assisted the Co-op with interior design concepts, blending the sense of a small close-knit community with the funky, hip and sustainable elements of their urban locale. Pogue’s Run, the first non-profit member-owned grocery in Indianapolis, will fill a gap by celebrating culture and community in providing fresh, tantalizing foods and nutritional guidance in a welcoming environment.

“The AFH architects, working with the Co-op, used creativity to develop a look and feel for the grocery space without recommendations that would have been cost-prohibitive to implement,” said Julie Rhodes. “The co-op is grateful for the contribution of the talented and generous architects of Architecture for Humanity Indianapolis chapter. ”
