Last September, AFH brought the first PARK(ing) Day celebration to Indianapolis. In the shadow of the Indiana Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument which towers above Monument Circle just one block to the North, the Indianapolis Chapter of AFH created the “park for a day” over two parking spots.

In 2010 AFH is looking for like-minded partners and hopes that, collaboratively, PARK(ing) Day will bring a 10-space urban oasis on Meridian Street, just in front of Borders Bookstore. So if you are looking to join this year’s celebration, we want you there. As an offset to the cost of permits and agreements, the cost for each team entry is $27 for a single space (which measures at 9′ x 20′). If interested in two spaces, the total fee is just $42.

We are currently working with Prairie Creek Sod for our sod donations and the hope is to get enough to cover all 10 spaces. The rest of the material donations for each space will be that team’s responsibility.

If your organization is interested in a space, you can email Brett at We will soon have a form and payment information on this page.
